Empowering Communities, One Step at a Time

Through a holistic approach that focuses on Education, Empowerment, and Integration, we create opportunities for growth, self-reliance, and community belonging.

Founded in 2019 by Miki Shika, Ekhaya Empowerment was established to provide a safe and inclusive space for people from all cultural backgrounds to connect, learn, and thrive. Our name, “Ekhaya,” which means “home” in Zulu, reflects our core belief: everyone deserves a place where they feel supported, valued, and empowered.

Our Mission & Vision

Ekhaya Empowerment C.I.C’s mission is to alleviate the impacts of poverty amongst service users from underserved communities by providing access to education, empowering individuals with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive, and fostering a sense of belonging through inclusive community initiatives.

Our vision is a future where everyone can improve their lives with access to resources, opportunities, and a supportive community. We aim to build communities that fight poverty, tackle inequalities, and help people reach their full potential. We believe education, empowerment, and integration are the keys to creating thriving communities.

At Ekhaya Empowerment, our work has transformed the lives of women, children, and families from marginalized and underserved communities. We focus on empowerment, education, and integration to create lasting change.
